Mourinho asks Manchester United to review the medical department following increase in injuries

Jose Mourinho Manchester United

Jose Mourinho has lost patience with the number of injuries to his Manchester United squad and wants the club to review the medical department, according to reports.

The Red Devils have been missing key players Anthony Martial, Wayne Rooney, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones for key periods this season, while Eric Bailly was ruled out for a couple of months after injuring his knee in their 4-0 loss to Chelsea.
The Times claims that Mourinho is particularly annoyed that he has lost players this season for a combined total of 33 Premier League matches through injury but is refusing to blame any individuals in the medical department.
Mkhitaryan, whose only start came in the Manchester derby loss on September 10, has been a concern this season after a late scan revealed the extent of a thigh problem that would subsequently rule him out for almost two months.
United have statistically covered less ground than any other side in the Premier League, highlighted by Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s apparent concerns over the fitness and conditioning work since joining.
The report continues by saying that Ibrahimovic believes he has lost some of his sharpness since joining United from Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain and is worried that the players don’t do enough aerobic exercise in training.
The United boss had to use a makeshift back four in their 3-1 victory over Swansea over the weekend, with Ashley Young starting at right-back and Phil Jones rushed back into the starting XI after a long-term injury.
