With the football league already set to officially kick off
today, 4th of August, 2017, the Ligue 1 are in no time to waste.
French Ligue 1;
being one of the biggest and most competitive leagues around Europe,
soccerhubng has prepared an analysis just in time to identify the teams to look
out for in the 2017/2018 season.
Last season saw a young team in Monaco doing the unthinkable
by snatching up the Ligue 1 crown away from PSG. Also, it saw rise to so many
break out stars, most notably, Real Madrid target; Kylian Mbappe.
This season has already shown glimpses of being more competitive
as teams are already making all necessary re-enforcements to make sure that all
their goals and objectives are achieved in the 2017/2018 season with the
signing of Neymar to PSG the most significant and jaw dropping moves of the
summer as proof.
Teams to look out
for:
Paris Saint German are
one of the favourites this season. Despite a disappointing end to the 2016/2017
season, the capture of their long pursued target Santos Neymar shows how much
they are willing to go to make sure that the Ligue 1 trophy returns back to the
French Capital. There have also been some other notable signings with the
capture of Dani Alves who was set to reunite with Pep Guardiola at Manchester
City, and with the summer transfer market far from being closed, there
certainly will be more re-enforcement that would be added to the fold to make
PSG become a firm threat in the Ligue 1 and even all around Europe in general.
Another team that must be watched very closely is Monaco. They have shown real promise
over the years since their return back to the Ligue 1 and last season proved to
be a very well deserved gift after being crowned the Ligue 1 champions for
2016/2017 season. This season, they may be without few of their stars that
helped in achieving the feet of last season, after sales of Bakayoko to Chelsea,
Silva and Benjamin Mendy to Manchester City. But they also have made reasonable
signings, most notably; Tilemans of Anderlecht coming in to support the team
from midfield. They have also been able to keep some of their key stars and
that will prove to be very beneficial as they head into this new season.
Other teams to look out for include; Marseille, Lyon and Nice looks
like they could be a surprise package in the 2017/2018 season. Nice have been
able to keep their star striker; Mario Balotelli and also have young and very
talented players in their berth to make them a team to beat. Marseille on the
other hand are looking very interesting as the project already being carried
out by Garcia (Marseille’s manager) looking to be a fruitful one this season.
Lyon however, shouldn’t be marked out of the equation of teams that should
perform this season as they most likely going to make it very tough for any
opponent to get three points out from them in the 2017/2018 season.
The French Ligue 1 is aleady set to kick off later this
evening with the current Ligue 1 champions; Monaco facing their first test of
the season against visitors; Toulouse.
