Ousmane Dembele to be punished for missing training sessions after reports that Dortmund rejected an offer for him from Barcelona.
Barcelona have been reportedly keen on the Dortmund
youngster as a replacement for Neymar who has since moved to join French
Giants; PSG.
Dortmund’s new manager; Peter Bosz admitted he doesn’t have
an idea of the whereabouts of Dembele after the energetic French winger failed
to appear for training sessions on Thursday before it was later confirmed that
the forward was still in the German City and will be punished accordingly for
his absence.
"Ousmane Dembele today missed the BVB-training-session
without any excuse," a club statement read. "The player seems to have
done that intentionally. Because of that behaviour we will sanction him.
"The player is still in Dortmund. In consultation with
our coach we have suspended him from all practice and match-activities until
next week after our cup game."
Dembele is a target for Barcelona alongside Liverpool Star;
Philippe Coutinho with efforts to replace Neymar who left the Catalonians for
Paris for a big money move worth £200 Million.
On Thursday afternoon, the Bundesliga club announced to the
Frankfurt Stock Exchange that talks had been held with Barcelona over the
potential transfer of Dembele but ended without an agreement.
It is understood that Barcelona are willing to pay an excess
of £80 Million plus add-ons for the young winger.
